For the final two films, he reportedly earned $12.5 million plus 7.5 per cent of the box-office gross. A generation of girls will grow up paying to see him in anything.

Rob/Kristen and Rob/Reese are #1 and #10 on Forbes List Of Hollywood's Highest-Grossing Romantic Couples

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson land at the top of our list of Hollywood’s Highest-Grossing Romantic Couples. We looked at the top-grossing romantic movies of the last three years. Twilight was by far the biggest box office winner over that period, earning $625 million.

Pattinson is also a member of the 10th place couple on our list alongside Reese Witherspoon. Their film Water for Elephants earned $59 million in the U.S. in 2011. Those aren’t Twilight numbers, but considering that the movie brought in an extra $58 million internationally and only cost $38 million to make, it was a small hit.

Stewart performed an unusual feat this year: She topped our highest-paid actress list and almost ranked as the actress who offers the best return for her pay. Even though Stewart earned $25 million to appear in the last two Twilight films, she still offers a good return on investment.

Robert Pattinson

Returns $31.70 for every $1 paid.

Pattinson is the second Twilight star to appear on our list this year. He falls below co-star Kristen Stewart because his one non-Twilight movie that we counted (Water for Elephants) wasn't as big a hit as Stewart's Snow White and the Huntsman.

While Twilight is another film with multiple stars, I gave each of them credit for the fantastic box office performance of Breaking Dawn Part 2, the final film in the Twilight series. So far the film has earned $779 million and it’s still going strong in theaters.

Of the three main stars (who all earn the same amount at this point), Kristen Stewart earned the most at the box office this year: $1.1 billion. In addition to Twilight, she had Snow White and the Huntsman, which hit theaters this summer. The film turned into a nice little hit bringing in $397 million at the global box office and establishing Stewart as a movie star who will have no problem moving beyond the Twilight world.

Stewart’s costar Robert Pattinson ranks fifth on our list with $793 million. Like Stewart, he had non-Twilight films this year but unlike Stewart, his weren’t big hits. Cosmpolis and Bel Ami earned $14 million combined.
